On the mound today is a right-hander duel between Washington’s veteran Trevor Williams (0-1) and New York’s veteran Adrian Houser (0-1).
So far in spring training Williams has appeared in two games, starting both with an ERA of 9.00 and six strikeouts. Last season he finished 6-10 in 30 starts with 111 strikeouts. For Houser, he has started three games this preseason with eight strikeouts and a 3.86 ERA building off a strong 2023 season.
This week New York saw the return of Edwin Diaz. The two-time All-Star made a dramatic return, striking out the side in his return, giving New York a huge addition to the roster for a potential playoff push this season.
